Public should note that the human figure depicted in both green and red is not necessarily a man as it could also very easily be a woman wearing trousers suffering from alopecia or just choosing to sport a very short haircut, as is her right.

 

The depiction of the androgynous green figure walking is in no way discriminative against people who can not / do not walk across the road. This includes people with wheelchairs, mobility aids,

skateboards, scooters, and indeed roller blades.

 

It should be noted that whilst the word WAIT appears as an abrupt order, it does so only due to space restrictions and should be read more as a polite request that for your own safety we kindly ask if you would be so kind as to wait for the androgynous green figure to appear before beginning to cross the road.

 

For pedestrians suffering from colour blindness, the red androgynous figure is at the top and the green androgynous figure is at the bottom.
